Cold Laser

MLS Class IV Robotic Cold Laser

The MLS laser is a Class IV laser capable of producing energy to achieve a therapeutic dose for superficial and deep tissues. It is patented technology known as “Multi-Wave Lock System” and is approved by the FDA. The laser energy treatment increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the affected region. It reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. The laser energy goes deep into the cells and stimulates the production of ATP, which is the energy source of the cell. It increases healing and decreases inflammation, pain, and scar tissue formation.

CONDITIONS TREATED:

  • Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel syndrome
  • Chronic non-healing wounds
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Knee arthritis/pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Pre and post-surgical treatment
  • Shoulder pain
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Sore muscles and joints
  • Tendon and ligament injuries
  • Tennis/Golfers elbow

COMMON RESULTS:

  • Quick relief of pain
  • Strong anti-inflammatory effect
  • Expedited healing of sprains and strains
  • Speedy recovery of the injured region
  • Fast healing of swollen areas
  • Instant improvement of local blood circulation
  • Rapid repair of superficial injuries, such as wounds and ulcers

WHAT IS LASER THERAPY? HOW DOES IT WORK?

Laser light, in the right wavelengths, penetrates into the body eliciting photochemical and photo-biological responses. One of these effects takes place within the mitochondria; the organelle (part of the cell) responsible for making ATP. When light is absorbed it causes a build-up of single oxygen molecules that accelerate the formation of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the cells’ energy and fuel source, to 10 times the average rate. Increased ATP production leads to a secondary cascade or reactions increasing immune response, accelerating the healing process and reducing pain.

The result is a dramatic decrease in inflammation along with an improved healing speed of damaged skin, bone, muscle, ligament, nerves, and cartilage.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT?

Laser therapy is a painless treatment that usually lasts several minutes. Patients may experience a comfortable sensation at the point of application.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Most patients see positive results in 1-3 treatments. The swelling is greatly reduced and there is a rapid relief of pain. Chronic conditions can be controlled with regular treatments. Acute conditions usually subside quickly, typically within a set of treatments.

Cervical & Lumbar Traction / Decompression

Decompression Spinal Therapy works to stretch the spine, using a spinal decompression table or other device, in order to create negative pressure and space within the disc to allow disc fluid to move back into place. This creates an environment in which the disc can receive more nutrients and therefore heal itself more quickly and effectively. The ultimate goal of spinal decompression therapy is to relieve the patient's chronic back, arm, neck, and/or leg pain, and to heal the source of pain. This therapy is designed to help patients suffering from a "pinched nerve" associated with disc herniation.

Corrective Exercises / Rehabilitation

At Bauer Chiropractic, LLC, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is acoustic vibrations (not audible) that penetrate into the deep tissues. Some benefits are that it reduces pain and swelling, soft tissue healing and repair, treats muscle spasms, treats acute or chronic inflammation, should see positive effects/benefits after 3-4 treatments, and it is pain free, should only fell a soft, warming sensation.

Electric Muscle Stimulation

Electric Muscle Stimulation is the therapeutic use of electricity for medical treatment. Electrotherapy treatments are most commonly employed to relieve pain, reduce swelling, relax muscles, speed up healing and stimulate acupuncture points. It is relatively pain-free and has no significant negative side effects. It can feel like a buzzing or tingling sensation within the skin.

Hot / Cold Therapy
Heat therapy opens blood vessels, which increases blood flow, relaxes muscles, and helps alleviate pain.

Cold therapy slows down the blood flow to an injury, which reduces swelling, inflammation, and pain.

Orthotic Fitting & Benefits

Custom orthotics can help provide superior comfort allowing you to stand, walk, and run comfortably, assist in fighting off pain in the foot, ankle and leg, and they can improve balance by allowing your feet the necessary support to maintain a functionally correct position.
